Import Your CAS Statement and See Your Whole Portfolio

You already have the data. It is sitting in your inbox as a Consolidated Account Statement — a password-protected PDF from CAMS, KFintech, MF Central, or NSDL that lists every mutual fund folio or demat holding you own. On its own, that PDF is a dead end: you can read it, but you cannot track it, chart it, or act on it. Velthian turns that same statement into a live, reconciled portfolio in minutes — no retyping folios, no spreadsheet, no manual entry.

What you get A reconciled, tracked portfolio — in minutes, not hours

What is a CAS, and which statements work

A Consolidated Account Statement (CAS) is a single document that brings together your investments across registrars and depositories, so you don't have to collect them folio by folio. There are two broad kinds, and Velthian reads both:

Mutual fund CAS

A statement covering your mutual fund folios across AMCs, generated through CAMS, KFintech, or MF Central. It lists every scheme, folio, units, and transaction history.

NSDL e-CAS (demat)

A depository statement covering equity and other securities held in your NSDL demat account, emailed to you each month. Velthian reads the NSDL e-CAS to bring your stock holdings in.

Auto-detected

You don't need to tell Velthian which format you have. Upload any supported CAS and it detects the source automatically, then parses it accordingly.

A quick note on scope: Velthian currently supports NSDL, CAMS, KFintech, and MF Central statements. CDSL demat statements are not supported yet — if your equities sit in a CDSL account, request an NSDL e-CAS or add those holdings directly for now.

How to get your CAS

If you don't already have a statement to hand, both kinds are free and take a couple of minutes to request:

  • Mutual fund CAS: request a Consolidated Account Statement from mfcentral.com (or via CAMS / KFintech). It is emailed to you as a password-protected PDF.
  • Equity / demat CAS: request an NSDL e-CAS from your depository. NSDL emails it to you each month, so you may already have a recent one in your inbox.
  • The password is usually your PAN, or the password you set when generating the statement. You will enter it once during upload.

How Velthian imports your statement

Importing is a guided, four-step flow — you stay in control at every step and nothing is changed until you approve it.

1 · Upload

Drop in your CAS PDF and enter the statement password. Velthian auto-detects whether it is a CAMS, KFintech, MF Central, or NSDL statement.

2 · Reconcile

It reads every folio and holding and matches them against what is already in your account, so existing holdings are updated rather than duplicated.

3 · Review the diff

You see exactly what will be added, updated, or closed before anything changes — no silent imports, no surprises.

In the fourth step you apply the changes, and your portfolio is live. From then on it is tracked, charted, and ready for analysis alongside the rest of your wealth.

Your statement password is used once, never stored

A CAS is sensitive, so security is built into the flow. The password you enter is used a single time to open and read the statement, and is never stored. The import runs against your own account, and you review every change before it is applied. The goal is to make onboarding effortless without ever asking you to compromise on the privacy of your financial data.

Why import beats typing it all in

  • No manual entry — folios, units, and costs come straight from the official statement, so there are no typos and no missed schemes.
  • Full history — the statement's transaction record is captured, not just today's balance, which matters for accurate gains and tax views later.
  • Reconciliation, not duplication — re-importing a newer CAS updates what you already have instead of creating duplicate holdings.
  • Faster to a complete picture — minutes to a full mutual fund and equity portfolio, versus an evening of copying numbers from PDFs.

From import to insight

Importing your CAS is the starting point, not the destination. Once your holdings are in, they become part of one unified view of your wealth — which is where the real value begins. With a complete portfolio, Velthian can show you concentration you couldn't see, surface tax-aware opportunities, and help you decide what to sell and when. A statement you couldn't act on becomes a portfolio you can actually manage.

The hardest part of tracking your wealth is getting the data in. Importing your CAS removes that barrier in a few minutes — everything useful flows from there.

Importing a CAS statement — FAQs

Which CAS statements does Velthian support?
Velthian reads Consolidated Account Statements from CAMS, KFintech, and MF Central (for mutual funds), and NSDL e-CAS statements (for demat / equity holdings). Just upload the PDF — the format is detected automatically.
Is my CAS statement password stored?
No. The password you enter is used once to open and read the statement, and is never stored. The import runs against your own account and you review every change before it is applied.
Does Velthian support CDSL statements?
Not yet. Velthian currently supports NSDL, CAMS, KFintech, and MF Central. If your equities are held in a CDSL demat account, you can request an NSDL e-CAS, or add those holdings directly for now.
How do I get a consolidated account statement?
For mutual funds, request a CAS from mfcentral.com (or CAMS / KFintech) — it is emailed as a password-protected PDF. For equities, request an NSDL e-CAS from your depository; NSDL emails it monthly, so you may already have a recent one.
Can I import both mutual funds and stocks?
Yes. Import a mutual fund CAS for your fund folios and an NSDL e-CAS for your demat holdings, and both sit together in one portfolio — so you finally see your combined exposure rather than two separate statements.
Will importing again create duplicate holdings?
No. Velthian reconciles a new statement against what you already hold, so existing positions are updated rather than duplicated, and you always review the diff before anything is applied.
